So far so good Quiet and efficient

Installed this inverter 6000btu ac in our boat. It is heavier than what Im used to at 68lbs. So it was not simple to get it aboard the boat. Only place it could fit without major sawing and reconstruction is for this season in the front window. I blocked off the outside air. I built a metal awning that covers the unit from sun as per manual. Allowed the sides to be open. It intrudes about 8 into the boat at the front. Clear space for airflow. So far we run it on our generator and it runs fine. Cools the boat down to 75 in 101 degrees f weather Quietly. I was able to run it off our inverter and solar system with battery on. However we only have a 1200 watt system and it is not enough to run it for long on the battery 35min to about two hours depending on temp/sun etc. Hoping to increase capacity until we can run it on solar only. It can pull up to about 1100 watts when starting the compressor up. Once it gets cool it can ramp down around 510 watts. And Ive heard less than that around 100 watts. In energy saver mode once it cools to temp it shard the unit down and every three minutes the fan comes on to sense if it needs to start cooling again and if not it shuts down for three minutes and tries again. It is the most quiet ac I have owned so far Quite nice So far so good It is quite heavy so be prepared But it uses little power and is quiet Even has a dehumidifier function sort of and a self clean function that uses a slinger fan to move water about. It drips normally out the back Install as directed it should be fine But it has to be kept out of direct sunlight as that causes it to work to hard and it can break down prematurely The gas used is r32 which is flammable Hopefully it will never need to be refilled or at least for several years. When I was a child you almost never had to recharge a window ac for ten years or more Ive had big old units running fine after many years But not as quiet or efficient as this one Thanks lg I hope I never need servo e bit if I do I hope you will be there for me I registered the warranty Cheers

Lied about exchange/out of stock and cost me $250

The product arrived defective - it would make helicopter noises that got progressively louder and faster like it was about to explode. To their credit they admitted it was defective once I sent them a video and they said yup its defective the fan blades are broken we can do an exchange for you. I liked how fast and easy that process was specifically I liked that I could send them photos and videos over text message to show them the issue. Then they said I had to follow some pretty complex steps to get the exchange. I had to take a picture of the model label intact on the machine. Then I was instructed to rip it off the machine and tear it in half but not torn in a way that obscures the model or serial number then send them a photo of the torn label this is to void the warranty so the exchange can happen. Then I had to fill out and sign some forms online which took about 20 minutes and they said Ok youll get a text message in the next few days to confirm the exchange then another text when the exchange has shipped and is with our shipping partner. The next day I got a text that the exchange went through a day or two after that I got a text that said its with the logistics company and will arrive in 7 days. Meanwhile this was my 2nd AC unit that had broken. Which means I had to spend money for 4 task rabbits: one to install the first one one to uninstall and return the first one one to install the second one and of course I would have to get one to uninstall the 2nd one and one to install the third one the replacement that was about to arrive. So Id spent $200-$300 on Task Rabbits installing and uninstalling defective machines and I had to spend a lot of money on the AC unit and of course I spent weeks from mid to late July without AC. I was pretty frustrated but at least the replacement was on the way. I reached out to LG in the meantime to ask if they would provide complimentary installation for the replacement since I had spent so much on the task rabbits already installing defective units. They said theyd get back to me and they never did. Then the next day I received a text that said word for word As we discussed we are unable to move forward with the LG Exchange due to NO STOCK at the time of processing your case. You have been offered a refund instead. In order to claim your LG refund you will need to complete your official submission form at the link below. This is 100 a lie. They never said the unit was out of stock and they even sent me confirmation that the exchange went through and confirmation that it was with the logistics partner and would arrive in 7 days. They just said as we discussed to cover themselves because they realized that they messed up they made a mistake and they didnt want to admit to it so they tried to sweep it under the rug and pretend like they already told me it was out of stuck. Really unethical. You should own up to your mistake and make it right. Anyway bottom line is theyre giving me a refund since they cant offer a replacement and here I am at the end of July having spent $200-$300 in installation fees and I still dont have an air conditioner. This was a deeply disappointing experience and I will be sharing this on socials with my followers well as posting on Amazon and Wayfair because LG should have more integrity than this.

I bought this to use in a bedroom based on a very high rating from Consumer Reports as well as excellent customer reviews. Its a bit pricey for a 6000 b.t.u. AC due to the dual inverter compressors but well worth it. Its extremely quiet and cools very well. My only complaint is with the front panel display which is difficult to read apart from the temperature. I really like that the front panel is solid apart from the air vents on top. The vents that most air conditioners have in front of the filter are placed off to the sides and bottom. Its much easier to keep clean and looks attractive. Overall I would definitely recommend.

This A/C unit is highly rated but when I installed it just before a heat wave was coming it made a loud clicking / rubbing noise. I spoke with LG customer care and we opened the housing on the unit only to find the fan was rubbing on the fan housing. So I had to return it

First this was the only small 6k BTU A/C with a dual inverter that I found for sale. I have downsized into a 1300Sq ft Bungalow so I needed a smaller bedroom unit than the LG 8k that is sold online AZ or the box stores. I feel lucky to have found this model and I hope LG continue to produce it. I contacted the U-shaped manufacturer to see if they were considering a smaller model and they said NO Before purchasing this model I read the reviews on AZ and the biggest problem that I noted were units that were broken/damaged in transit not FedX. I purchased mine directly from LG and it was shipped via FedX. The price was right $10.00 off and the box arrived unblemished the unit was 100 perfect This A/C is as quiet as the Frig Gallery Series that I had 43db and the best part is there is no compressor slam because of the inverter compressor. ORDER DIRECTLY FROM LG
