Defective from day one and LG wouldnt help with p

I bought a brandnew window air conditioner directly from LG. Right after installing it the unit started making loud knocking and clunking noises so I shut it off and checked it more closely. Inside I found a large crack in the motor housing along with other broken plastic pieces. This was not shipping damage and not something that could have happened during installation. The unit was clearly damaged before I ever received it and based on the photos it even looks like the crack had been glued which means this wasnt a new break. I contacted LG immediately since this was obviously a factory defect. LG said they would only issue a refund if I returned the unit but then told me that pickup was my responsibility and that I had to take it to UPS myself. This is a large heavy window AC and I dont have a way to transport something like that. I also explained that the original box had already been broken down and discarded after installation which is a normal thing to do with a new appliance. No pickup option was offered and I was also told there would be a fee even though the unit arrived defective. Whats most frustrating is that this wasnt a changeofmind return LG sent me a damaged unit and then made returning it as difficult as possible. A company this size should stand behind its products instead of pushing all the hassle onto the customer. After this experience I would not recommend ordering large appliances directly from LG unless youre prepared to deal with returns entirely on your own.. Issue is still not resolved

This review is for the LG LW1517FVSM but I think it applies to this unit as well going off of the same experiences I see that people are posting. Purchased in April of 21 due to the dual inverter tech and ThinQ platform and from the beginning it never felt as if it cooled properly. Now I have it set to Cool 60 and my indoor temp in the living room is 81. I have an LG Washtower and LG OLED TVs and was hoping to switch everything else to LG but Im not sure I trust LG appliances anymore.

Ive read numerous reviews on Amazon and LG about the product quality and how it was delivered and yet I made a stupid decision to purchase it thinking it wouldnt happen to me since I purchased this directly from LG. As you can see in my image the product came with lots of dent alignment issue and lots of bent fins. I reached out to customer service hoping to get clearer answer on whether this is safe to use or not. It took me at least 5 different departments before I could get an answer saying If you want to use it you can use it. sure it might be safe. Im extremely disappointed at the level of customer service and lack of professionalism. It seems like its working fine but installation was a pain I ended up hiring help. So in the end I spent over 600 dollar for this piece of dented junk which I cant even return because its so heavy.

Got this for my room thinking a bigger unit will cool the room the unit will start off cold then just blow regular air light a fan the compressor keeps cutting out and not blowing cold air its set to 60 degrees and room is hot at 7o-75

Liked it until it lost refrigerant suddenly within days 14 months after purchase so the 12 month warranty doesnt cover it. Based on reviews this isnt uncommon. Unit only ran for about 4 months during the summer seasons. Now requires either hiring a technician to repair/refill or goes in the dumpster. Would not recommend purchasing this unit. Should last significantly longer than this and is a waste of money.

I bought this air conditioner 3 weeks ago and I love that I can control it anywhere. I have only used it a short time that there is a savings to my electric bill. Its the quietest air conditioner I have ever had. If I get the results I expect I will most likely purchase more to continue to control my electric use better before the summer months.

This air conditioner is the worst I have ever used I have owned it for just over a year and it is not blowing cold. Buyer beware the warranty on this unit is only 12 months. Do yourself a favor and do not buy this unit as it does not operate well after only a few months of use.

I am very unhappy with this unit. It was used not quite one full season as I installed in mid June last summer. It had error codes and would shut down occasionally last summer. Id unplug the unit reset and restart the unit. This year it started out working ok. And then it became a daily issue sometimes several times a day to unplug the unit reset and restart the unit. Until it stopped working and I could not restart it. The farthest I got with support was their first question. They asked if it was on a dedicated circuit just for that AC unit. And it was not. However my old home was completely rewired in 2005. Ive been using my old sharp window AC unit for years at this location and has never had an issue. I have never chipped a circuit at this location or anywhere in my house since my homeless rewired. Also I have several unit to my home on different circuits. And I have never had a problem with any of them not functioning properly because none of them are on their own dedicated circuit. I realize that having a dedicated circuit for each window unit unit AC would be ideal. But since having this unit I have never had an issue in 23 years in my home similar to this units issues w/ any other window AC unit. New or old. I am left to conclude that this unit is just not a good window AC unit. And I highly recommend avoiding this model.

So disappointed since we wanted to love this AC. High expectations from reading reviews and a ton of research. This is actually the quietest and sleekest-looking AC I have ever owned Ive owned a lot. It also works very well kind of. It arrived very damaged although the box was completely intact so it left the LG factory that way. First there is a dent on the lower right side of the cage bracket looking from the outside of the house. It looks smushed like it was dropped. Next the inside of the cage bracket is lined with foam strips for protection but most of my foam was squished peeled away and torn off because the foam was misplaced and the unit was shoved into the cage so it is now useless. Thirdly the aluminum fins all over the front of the unit are squished and completely pushed down and dented due to gross negligence in mishandleing and packing. It actually looks like huge palm prints and hand marks all over it. This affects the way the unit will work and is unacceptable for a brand-new $550 AC. Its not just in one or two places but all over the entire front and even some of the rear. The worst issue of all is the extremely loud crazy knocking sound that goes on for over a minute every time the unit is turned on. I dont understand this at all something must be wrong inside. It is so loud and your first instinct is to shut it off immediately before it blows but it does go away as the fan winds up and then it is as quiet as a mouse. We thought it might have just been the first time and it would go away but its been 3 days and will not stop. We have no choice but to bring the unit back and return it even though it took three hours to install which is such a waste of our time. Speaking of installation the frame guide clips suck dont fit into the holes and snap off and break. Your instructions actually say This item breaks often SO FIX IT change it make it differently. We had such high hopes that we would try another of the same unit. The biggest shame is all of these issues could have been avoided with quality control and they had to have happened at the factory and the unit was sold anyway. There is no excuse for that. I have photos of everything and a video with sound of the knocking. Not sure if it will upload as when I click on add photo/video nothing happens.
