Bought this fridge for it's smaller size, taking up less room in the kitchen and saving on energy costs while providing enough room for two adults. This is the loudest new fridge I have ever encountered. Shortly after it was delivered I called Whirlpool to check if something might be wrong with the fridge, because I couldn't believe how loud it was. They wouldn't send a tech to check it out or give me any guidance, wouldn't even tell me the dBA for the model (as is often listed with other appliances such as dishwashers). They just said they could send a new fridge. The new fridge came and is just as loud. Pretty disappointed I spent over $600 to have such loud buzzing in my kitchen, but I can't find another affordable fridge of this size unfortunately. Another unfortunate feature is that the shelves are just barely too short (like 2 cm) to fit many common containers such as mason jars.

Back in December I Contacted Whirlpool when all my freezer items defrosted and were ruined because the freezer does not work properly. They sent us to a third party to repair the fridge. This took 2 weeks for the guy to come and say he could not fix the fridge because it was a closed unit and they don™€™t fix those. He said it should be replaced. I contacted Whirlpool again about what he said they said they would need to have another third party repair company come out. Had to wait another 2 weeks for this company to come out Platinum Factory Servies was the company this time. They ended up canceling and having to reschedule the day they were supposed to come. So another week later they finally came out. Said they would have to order parts. That was 3 weeks ago apparently the parts are on back order. We are still waiting. It™€™s been 3 months that this fridge has not worked right. Whirlpool has been of no help. Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves.

Bought this for my office two years ago and it has broken many times! The freezer will frost over and then the fridge portion will get warm and not cool down. Current temp is a warm 60 degrees in my refrigerator. They sent someone to fix it back in May, we paid $413 out of pocket for this repair and since then it has leaked daily creating large puddles and now months later, we are back to the original issue again. & the doors will randomly pop open when they are not over filled or anything! I would expect more from Whirlpool!

This is the worst fridge I have ever purchased. The spacing between the shelves is too small. I can only use the front 6 inches of any shelf (even though the fridge is 30" deep) because I can't see or reach anything deeper than that. The only useful storage is the vegetable bin because it is deep. I have to keep sandwiches and other foods in there so I can reach them. If I had seen this fridge before purchasing it, I never would have. Any prospective buyer, BEWARE!

I bought this fridge new as a replacement for an old, inefficient drink fridge in my garage. From new, it really only worked ok for first year, although the freezer compartment cycled from frozen the semi-frozen. After a year and a half, nothing would stay frozen in the freezer compartment. Turns out the inverter and compressor need replacing. Would have expected better performance from a name like Whirlpool.

My biggest complaint is that I did not realize prior to purchase that the freezer did not work properly in an unheated garage when the temperature went below 55 or so degrees. Otherwise, I do not have issues with the refrigerator. Summer is coming and the refrigerator is in the garage, so I may have additional comments when the temperature, and the heat in the garage, rises. We'll see!

I ordered this item in Oct. 2, '21 and it didn't arrive until Mar. 5, '22. The times I called to check on my order, the responses were very ambiguous, basically for me to reach out to the retailer. Customer service didn't have a clue about whatever was causing the delays, other than the pandemic, and no time frame as to when the delays would be rectified. Due to my living situation, I needed a very specific size and was committed to this particular item. At the moment, it appears to function as anticipated...whether it will prove to have been worth the wait, only time will tell. It's a little disheartening that your people didn't even offer a "Thank you for your patience...", a "We're sorry for any inconvenience these delays may have caused you..." or a "Can we offer you xxxxxxx to compensate you for your inconvenience and appreciate you for remaining a loyal Whirlpool customer?".

Gasket gap - door reversing is complicated

We struggled & finished reversing the doors only to discover a gap on the LHS for both freezer & fridge. The fridge gasket gap isn't getting smaller but so far the fridge temperature is acceptable. Not sure if we would buy a Whirlpool fridge again - reversing doors should be easier & a significant gasket gap should not happen when the fridge is brand new.

Reversal doors feature doesn™€™t work

The right side opening with left side door hinges works best for our kitchen. Changes the factory left side doors opening caused a loose door seal. Refrigerator temperature range from dangerously 57 degrees upper shelf to 50 degrees door temperatures. Adjusted temperature and waiting 12 hours for change never corrected the temperature. I ate cheese taken out immediately was soft and as warm as room temperature. Tortillas bought two days before was very moldy. Large door slot takes up shelf space items on the interior must be push back otherwise door won™€™t close properly. Poor design. Temperature setting is confusing and seems to change by itself. Only feature I like is larger space in freezer. Problems with getting it cold too as all frozen food defrosted and mushy. Took several days before it was proper temperature. Had to toss some food since concern for foods not being maintained at safe temperatures.

The worst buying experience that I have ever had.

We bought the refrigerator about two months ago. It never cooled like I thought it should from the very beginning. After about 6 weeks, it quit cooling completely. I contacted Whilpool via phone, was put on hold for an hour, finally got a person who could schedule a repair. She said it might be a few days before she could get me scheduled. That was nearly three weeks ago and I've heard nothing since. Currently, the refrigerator is not working. I will contact a local appliance dealer to make repairs or replace, pay for it out of my own pocket.....and NEVER purchase another Whirlpool appliance or associated product ever again.

Not for Old Houses with NON-Level Floors

The refrigerator works well. The leveling was impossible for one person. The rear rollers are unadjustable and the front feet are too short. Customer Service had no technical support and could only read back to me what was in the printed material that came with the refrigerator. The solution was a service call to the local service tech. He leveled it. Downside-- A stack of wood block under the front feet. Not a pretty picture.

I had to call a repairman the first week, as it was obvious that the freezer wasn't working right - more like a weak refrigerator in that compartment. Turns out a part was assembled backwards AND they had crimped the wire that operated the fan. So I lost $75 worth of frozen food, thanks to an inept assembly.

I bought this Nov 2020 and it never stayed cold, it was extremely difficult to switch the door opening and the gaskets didn't work. I couldn't get service until 12/24/2020, which didn't resolve the problem. It became completely unable to cool in fridge and freezer. I couldn't get service until March! I called my own appliance repair company, Lakewood Appliance, and they came right out in two days, and discovered no coolant in the 'closed' system. Home Depot wouldn't take it back, I spent hours on the phone between Whirlpool and HD with nobody taking responsibility for this lemon. Lakewood took charge - talked with Whirlpool, replaced it with a used one 2/16/2021 and will be dealing with Whirlpool on the return. Whirlpool is making them due additional tests on it. The new used one was cool to proper temperature within two hours of plugging in. In addition the delivery people originally broke my accordian door next to the fridge (tiny house) and wouldn't take responsibility for it. It took over a month to get anyone to take care of the claim. All in all I will never buy another appliance at Home Depot and will not ever deal with Whirlpool again.

Great for small places!

We bought this fridge a few months ago, we have a very small one bedroom bungalow so have no room to accommodate a normal size fridge. It fits perfectly in the little corner and it is more spacious than I expected. It™€™s relatively quiet compared to our old fridge and I love the infinity shelf that you can push in and out to accommodate larger items. Also the cold/deli shelf on top is fantastic for storing fridge items that need to be colder but not frozen. I also love the big fruit/veggie bin! I™€™m so happy it™€™s not divided in to two as it makes it more spacious and can fit bigger fruits and veggies even compared to my old fridge that was bigger and had two bins.

It fit the small space

It's ok. The temp is off and we can't seem to balance it out. The door doesn't seem to stay closed. i.e. When I close the freezer door, the fridge opens. It does however fit our needs. I would suggest simply paying a little more for the larger one.

Can't rate what I can't use!

This refrigerator did not work upon getting it home. Service call put in... Was advised it should be covered by warranty. Great. Service man came and said it needed a part. 2 weeks later, I cannot get ahold of him and I have not heard anything. Whirlpool customer service has no information and their continued advice is to wait and try to reach repair person. Finally get ahold of the repair guy, who ended up getting Covid and being out for 3 weeks, says he's catching up but hadn't gotten the part. Now almost 3 months after buying this refrigerator from Lowes.... It still is not running.

Bad gasket, no service, waiting on them

Bought at Menards, few weeks later assembled it and seen the gasket was bad/not sealing. Menards would not take back because been more than 7 days. Contacted Whirlpool, they said nobody in my area from them to service it... I live 20 miles from the Menards I bought it from... They said they will put it out to the public to try locating someone to repair it. Waiting on that...

Small but surprisingly roomy.

I bought this to replace a 2-year-old Amana refrigerator that had a sealed system leak and the gas released and had none in it according to repairman. I wish I kept my old fridge. I am hoping this refrigerator is better made and will last longer. I went smaller and paid more so I hope have a better product.
