Extremely LOUD washer

I have had this washer for a couple months, I bought it after a lot of research. Here are the positives. The machine has an agitator which was a must have for my family, even with the agitator it™™s still very large inside. The machine has a deep fill option which actually fills the drum with enough water to wash dirty loads. The washer has many options to accommodate any type of load you can think of, it also has a setting that will remember your favorite wash setting. Overall, it washes clothes quite well. One downside to this machine is how LOUD it is. With all the positives this really is a huge downside, especially if the washer sits in the middle of your floor plan. This machine is not just noisy it™™s so loud it sounds like a jet engine is in my house, it™™s truly mind blowing how loud it is. I am also concerned with the ability to balance when rinsing, the machine makes loud banging noises even if the clothes are properly placed in a balanced way when loading the machine. This makes me think the machine will fail rather quickly. It is a good washer but just be aware of the noise level and how it relates to your house layout and your family. Also be aware of the bizarre loud bangs and the struggle the machine has when trying to balance during the spin cycle.

Everything is awesome about this washer EXCEPT SPIN CYCLE!! The balancing is terrible, the noise when it's trying to balance is terrible and the washer ending the cycle and leaving clothes soaking wet because it can't balance is unacceptable.

The washer works great but recommend buying the extended longer Warrenty! Within the first year had to replace the top door to washer. Was told it is an issue with that washer. Got it fixed under Warrenty but took 3 weeks as they were booked.

Washer itself is good. Got it with the agitator. I do miss being able to control how much water goes into it. Big downside is before I™™ve had it for 2 years the top started cracking. Into year 3 and it™™s gotten way worse. Tried using duct tape but it™™s not helping. New lid is almost $300 which is crazy. Don™™t think I™™ll do another GE after this. Also have the dryer. Works great. First one they delivered didn™™t work at all. Had to come back 2 weeks later to deliver a new one since I didn™™t want someone to try to come out to fix it.

I checked several times to even see if it was functioning because I heard zero noise. I am a short person (5.2) and the depth of the wash tub is longer than my arm! Plenty of room for my heavier larger bedding even with the agitator. So many control options including a SOAK cycle!!!! This washer is truly amazing!

Goes out of balance all the time.

I purchased this washer in March 2025. Since that time, I've had 4 service calls because the machine goes out of balance quite often. After the first service call in April 2025, GE advised the tech to replace the tub and the 4 suspension rods. This was done, but it did not change anything as it still goes out of balance. I have to say that when it's not dancing across my laundry room floor, it's a decent machine with great features and cycles, huge capacity and easy to use controls, but I have to babysit it. I cannot do a load of laundry without being close by. If it goes out of balance, it is very loud and rough. I have to pause the machine, rearrange the load, push the machine back into place, then start it up again. Towels, sheets and jeans go out of balance constantly. I'm at the end of my rope with this machine. I was told by one service tech that I probably use too much detergent and have buildup on the basket which is causing the out of balance to occur. This is ridiculous. We have soft water and don't need to use as much detergent. I use washing machine cleaner monthly, and we wash full, balanced loads: towels, sheets, jeans, lightweight items, etc. I would really like to have GE take the machine back and refund me for what I paid.

I'm liking this machine. My ge frontload needed an upgrade and this was my choice. The controls are easy to use and pretty much self explanatory. My clothes come out clean and fresh. The machine, aside what people are complaining about, is quiet. I am surprised because I was expecting it to be noisy. The water level is adequate for the size load it sensed. When I opened the app, it automatically new I had a new machine and asked if I wanted to add it to my account. So far, I'm happy with my purchase. I do recommend this model

We have enjoyed our washer for a month we like the controls and the performance. The clothes smell fresh after every wash. The different cycles make for easy washing and the noise level is very low. We wish there was an interior light in the washer, that's the only downside we have noticed after a month.

We requested a replacement since it is brand new but the shop where we purchased it refused and said it would need an extensive repair. I have been waiting for 10 days to hear back about my repair and it is still not scheduled awaiting parts. Very disappointed in the product and lack of service

I think it is a great washer, but I have one thing I don't like. When the clothes were done, with my other washer I just had to hang them up. When they were dry, there were no wrinkles-so no ironing. Now They come out wrinkled and they have to be ironed. Any thoughts on this? I cannot send pictures.

Excellent washer! I like the GE brand and quality. We purchased this model and have had about a month now with no issues. It's quieter than our previous model. Controls are simple enough and like that if you also use the GE Smart app, you get notifications when your load is complete as a reminder, which for use is nice. This model has the agitator (so glad GE still offers this) , which our last model did not.The clothes come out nice and clean, washer is large enough to wash our king blankets, etc..No more mildew type odor so far...that was an issue with the last one we had. We opted for the black color and glad we did....it's attractive and the white seems a little outdated now. Has many options for the cycles which gives a lot of flexability. We are very pleased with our purchase and product quality thus far! I feel very confident with this model and look for many years to come!

Yikes!! I don't think I've ever experienced a washer that vibrates & shakes this bad during a spin cycle - ever. All the comments in other reviews are real. Our washer shakes so bad even with only a bed mattress sheet and bed sheet (short of 1/3rd full), we literally need to wait on stand by in the room to stop the cycle to readjust the load every couple minutes or it sounds like it trying to destroy itself. We have to move it back into place 2-3 inches after use to avoid it damaging the brand new matching dryer purchased as a combo. I've even considered anchoring it to the wall so it doesn't dance across the room while tugging on water supply lines. This is just not right. Our 20 yr old GE Washer we replaced due to a bearing/motor leak could be filled to the brim and never shook like this. 20AU25 - We've contacted GE and a tech will be arriving next week. Will post the outcome as an update - hopefully this is serviceable and repairable otherwise it could end up at the curb. Update as of 27AU25 The tech assessed the situation as a manufacturing defect that is serviceable - the drum is clearly not concentric with the main hub mount and wobbles at least 5/8" or more in any direction while nothing is loaded at all. This is a major issue / add any minute imbalance from a load to that and there's no way humanly possible to have a "balanced load". He also mentioned a redesign and increased quality control on the newer mounting flange. This is the first anyone from GE has mentioned this in any review. And it would be nice to hear of that possibility (as full disclosure) rather than a generic bot-like response assuming the issue is user error. I will report out the outcome after new parts arrive and how that proves out. As a 40 year plus GE customer - I'd expect more for a response. For now,...will follow up when I know more.

It has direct drive which is supposed to be very good. When clothes are done, they are drier than other washer I've used. Cycle seems quick too. Good capacity. Overall its a 5 star, but, every time I open or close the lid, it turns on. That's very annoying....when I lift the lid at the end of the cycle, it turns on, I have to turn it off. Same when closing the lid when done. Also there is no sound when completed as my last machine.

Bought due to it being a larger size capacity. Installed it and the washer made a horrible grinding noise. Another was ordered for us. Over the next few days the grinding noise went away and works as it should.

I like this washer. I like the various cycles and the ability to customize them. I like that it has an agitator and believe my clothes are cleaner than when I used a washer without the agitator. I do NOT like that it gets out of balance easily and that I am unable to wash my bathroom rugs or my king sized quilt in it. While the tub is large enough the washer will not balance to complete the cycle. I checked the capacity before purchase so I would be able to launder those items so that is a major disappointment. When washing items with a tie or string the tie can get caught in the agitator and that™™s annoying.

Haven't had the washer long but it does clean the clothes well. The only reason I gave a good rating is because the washer is somewhat noisy. Otherwise, the drum is deep enough to wash comforters and bedding without getting tangled. It has great cycles and hopefully will last a long time.
